Our annual lock-in will be from 5:30 p.m. on Friday, August 18th to 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 19th! We will have fun games, sessions, and amazing food followed by an all-nighter! To RSVP for this, please fill out the Google form located at the bottom of this email.
If you are staying overnight, you must fill out the liability form and send it to jyoc@jainsocietydc.org ASAP!
As per JYOC tradition, we will also be holding elections for the 2023-2024 JYOC Youth Executive Committee during our general body meeting during this event. There are 5 positions currently open and the responsibilities for each position is listed below. If you are interested in running for a position, please fill out the election form by midnight, Friday, August 11th via the Google Form linked below. We encourage all our members to be involved to not only gain leadership experience in an official capacity, but to also bring much-need change in our community and create long lasting friendships!
Here are the open positions and a summary of responsibilities of each position:
- Chair: presides over all meetings, serves as a liaison between the committee and youth advisors, establishing goals and activities throughout the year.
- Vice Chair: assist the chair in all duties, prepare an annual report, organize adult/youth volunteers
- Membership/Records Lead: maintain the website, take notes during meetings, keep track of new sign ups and maintaining the email list, updating any information for members
- Public Relations Lead: manage all social media accounts, spreads the word about any events, creates PR material, communicate with YJA and other youth groups if necessary
- Events Lead: manage activity details, delegate tasks for large scale events, prepare a program calendar for the year, coordinate Buddy System activities
