The devotees observe Ayambil tapa during nine days of Navpad Oli along with a special kind of worship\, holy recitation and meditation in honor of the Navpad. The word ‘Navpad’ means nine supreme posts of the universe – Arihant\, Siddha\, Acharya\, Upadhyay\, Sadhu\, Darshan (right belief)\, Jnan (right knowledge)\, Charitra (right action) and Tapa (right austerity)\n\nJain literature (Kalpasutra) indicates that Navpad Oli is Shaswati\, meaning permanant. Navpad Oli festival exists in all time cycles (past\, present\, and future). This provides significant importance to the Navpad Oli.
