Celebrate Diwali with JSMW

Diwali has a very special significance in Jainism – it commemorates the anniversary of Bhagwan Mahavir’s attainment of moksha. JSMW has several events planned this year – please join the festivities.

At Pathshala (Cloverly Elementary) starting 10:15 am

  • Best Festive Dress Competition for kids and adults – be creative, traditional, and colorful!
  • Namkeen/ Farshan Competition – submit your entries today! (be sure to read the competition rules)
  • Diya Craft for Pathshala students with help from JYOC members.

Mahaveer Nirvana Pooja at the Jain Center at 7:30 am followed by brunch.
Nov 8th

Diwali Nav Smaran Path at the Jain Center at 8:00 pm.
Nov 10th Diwali Bhakti at the Jain Center at 7:00 pm.  Get your stavans and bhajans ready! Email your chosen bhajans to events@jainsocietydc.org so we can ensure everyone’s participation in celebrating Diwali.
